Why Ariadne
A myth about finding your way out.
In Greek myth, Ariadne gave Theseus a thread of red silk to help him find his way through the labyrinth, and his way back out. The labyrinth wasn't a maze meant to kill him. It was a puzzle meant to disorient him. The thread didn't change the labyrinth. It changed what was possible inside it.
Marketing is a labyrinth for most solo practitioners and small-business owners. You did not become a therapist to write Instagram captions. You did not start a photography business to think about SEO. You did not start a SaaS to remember which Facebook group allows promo posts on Mondays. The walls are real. The work is real. And getting lost in it costs you the thing you actually care about: your practice, your clients, your craft.
Ariadne is the thread. We don't change the walls of the labyrinth. Google still ranks local SEO, social media still rewards consistency, referral networks still need tending. What we change is what's possible inside it. You keep doing the work you love. We handle the part that keeps pulling you away from it.
The founders

Darla is a therapist in Snohomish, Washington. She runs Calming Connections Counseling, where she does relational, somatic work with women navigating perinatal shifts, grief, anxiety, neurodivergence, and the other slow reckonings that don't always have tidy names. She became a therapist for one reason: she wanted to help people. The way she helps is the way she has lived.
Bryan has been building on the web since fifth grade, when he made his elementary school's website and decided this was what he wanted to do forever. Two decades later, after stops at the Seattle Times, Amazon, Unity, and a seed-stage startup, he built Ariadne for Darla.
One night Darla was venting about what getting clients actually takes: the Facebook groups with their Monday-only posting rules, the Instagram captions, the constant fresh-content treadmill. Bryan heard the pattern. He built the first version of Ariadne on his iPhone, directing an AI across the house while Darla tested outputs and told him when something sounded like a robot and when it sounded like her. The first pass she hated. So he taught the model her voice. The second pass she read out loud and said, "It sounds like me." That was the moment we knew this could help more than one therapist. It could help everyone doing this kind of work.
We live in Washington with our three daughters, two dogs, and two cats. It's chaotic and we love it.
